One email when it’s ready. That’s the whole relationship.

A desk sundial worked out for New York, 40.7 degrees north. Point the fin north, give it some sun, and it reads solar time, which runs a few minutes off the clock depending on the season and daylight saving. Close enough for brunch.

Engraved round the edge: the sun has no notifications.

Lives on a sunny windowsill. On a cloudy day it is a very nice coaster.

How it works

  1. Find a spot that gets sun most of the day.
  2. Turn it so the fin points north.
  3. Read the shadow. That’s it. That’s the app.
